Politicalog - Fighting the Spin

Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedy. (Ernest Benn)

Over my dead body

Council tax inspectors will be able to enter people's homes and take photographs even of their bedrooms, it emerged yesterday.

Whitehall documents reveal that they will be allowed to "obtain factual information from internal inspections" as part of the enormous exercise to revalue 22 million properties in England.
All in the name of the State sponsored "Comprehensive Citizens Database Project".

We know who you are, we know where you live, we know how you live. We have your DNA, your fingerprints, your iris scans, your facial scan. We know how good the view out of your bedroom window is, we have pictures of your bedroom (mucky pup), we know that you buy Ikea furniture (Mr. Jones next door gets his from John Lewis. His council tax will be much higher... Don't worry).

Anyone who wishes to photograph the inside of my house had better bring a police officer and a search warrant with them.

Council Tax revaluation... my arse!
