Politicalog - Fighting the Spin

Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedy. (Ernest Benn)

This I have to see...

CCTV that instantly spots suspicious behaviour is among new technology being tested to boost security on the UK rail network, Alistair Darling has said.

...

Mr Darling said that various new systems which could help identify potential suicide bombers were being tested on the rail and underground networks.

They include sophisticated new "intelligence vision" CCTV technology which automatically spots suspicious behaviour.
It would be tempting to dress up like "The Hooded Claw" and furtively sneak around the Underground... Just to see if it works.

Boooooo!!

Or perhaps it only spots Asian men carrying a backpack and a Koran?

Speaking as a computer programmer, I would love to see the code behind this little gadget.

Should someone point out the obvious fact that by the time this wonderful new camera spots the suspicious looking character, they are already in the tube system?
