When I heard about the “great terrorist plot foil” this morning, my instant reaction was: “The government probably made it up”. Of course they didn’t, but the very fact that I even entertained the thought shows how low my level of trust has sunk in this crowd of manipulating morons. In short, I wouldn’t put it past them.
To the Police and Intelligence Community: Congratulations on a job well done. Keep up the good work.
To New Labour: I have no doubt that you will attempt to squeeze every ounce of political capital you can out of this story as extra impetus for ID cards and yet more Anti-Terror laws.
Control, Control, Control.
I’ll be waiting.

As long as we can get terrorists to list amateur chemistry as a hobby when they fill in the forms, I can see why the id card will be so effective.
